Hosting FAQ

Here you will find a list of frequently asked questions.
If you need more help please Contact us.
____________________________________

  1. Q: How many games am I allowed to host a week?
    A:
You are limited to 2 games per week during practice hosting (or during your first 2 weeks for returning hosts). After that period, the number of games you may add to the schedule will be at your sponsor's discretion.

  2. Q: Are hosts allowed to switch their game at the last minute (i.e. host Bingo instead of Trivia, etc.)?
    A:
No, not unless absolutely necessary. If the game is a monthly game and the game is changed then the points earned that game are not to be used in the monthly tally.
If you want to change your game for the upcoming week, please notify your sponsor in advance, so they can make the necessary change.

  3. Q: What happens when you miss hosting your games through unavoidable issues (i.e. PC breakdowns)?
    A:
Please try your best to notify your sponsor that you are missing your games. We know it is unavoidable, but it is counted as a no-show.

  4. Q: Can you lose your sponsored status?
    A:
Yes. You can lose your sponsored status by allowing your attendance percentage to drop below 50%. Your percentile is based on the number of games you host AND submit winners forms for (i.e.: If you host 2 games a week and you only submit a winners form for one; your percentage will be 50%). You can also lose your sponsored status by not showing (this does not count approved LOA or communicated emergencies) 3 times.

  5. Q: What do I do if the winners form is down?
A: Please e-mail all the details of your game to eventwinners@seducity.com.

  6. Q: What do I do if I have to miss a game?
A: If you know you will miss game(s) in advance, notify your sponsor ASAP. S/he may be able to get you on LOA status before the missed games. If you can, it's recommended you find a sponsored substitute to fill in for you. NOTE: A game you miss while not on LOA status is still counted as a no-show even if you find a sub, but finding a sub is still a nice thing to do for your players.

  7. Q: If I miss my game, can I do a make up game at another time?
    A:
No, a host may not do a *make-up* game to replace the game that was missed. An Impromptu game will *NOT* count as a make-up game.

  8. Q: If there is an open time slot on the schedule can I host an Impromptu game and request prizes from a Citizen?
    A:
Yes, provided the Impromptu Hosting Guidelines are followed.

  9. Q: Who are the current sponsors in SeduCity?
    A:
You can find a list of current available sponsors on the Sponsor Request Form.

  10. Q: How long is my practice period?
    A:
Your practice period is generally two weeks, but your sponsor can ask for you to do more if s/he feels you are not ready for regular prizes.

  11. Q: When can I host in an event?
    A:
You can host in an Event after your practice period is over and you are listed on the schedule as a regular host. If your regularly scheduled game is not on the event day(s) (usually Saturday & Sunday) you will have to submit a host request form located on the web page for the Event. If your regularly scheduled game is on an Event day it is added to the Event schedule automatically. It is your responsibility to check the Event Schedule to make sure your game is on the schedule and accurate.

  12. Q: When can I host my own event?
    A:
You can host an Event after you've been hosting for 90 days.

  13. Q: What can affect me getting my host reward (i.e. Four month status) ?
    A:
Constant no-shows/no-forms can affect when you receive your host reward.

  14. Q: When can I start a monthly prize game, and how would I go about it?
    A:
A host qualifies for a monthly prize by being a sponsored host in good standing for a period of 2 months. After this time, review the Monthly Guidelines, then contact your sponsor about hosting monthly games.

  15. Q: What should I do with DP's?
    A:
DP's (Door Prizes) are to be raffled. They may not be used as extra Place Prizes. Not raffling DP's can lead to suspension. Everyone (even those who did not play the game) may enter in a DP raffle, unless the host decides that main prize winners are ineligible.

  16. Q: Can door prizes be given to players for 5th and 6th place?
    A:
No. Door Prizes are just that... Door Prizes... and are not to be used as additional Place Prizes. They *MUST* be raffled.

  17. Q: If I have a problem with my sponsor, whom do I contact?
    A:
Contact Us with any questions/problems. Please note sponsors vary in methods of support.

  18. Q: Can one avatar win more than once at a game?
    A:
Depending on the game type, that is up to the host. The host may choose to limit the number of wins for an avatar (I.e. a bingo host can say an avatar can only win once)...or choose to make Place Prize winners ineligible for Door Prizes. Please announce in your Game Rules if wins per avatar are restricted, or if Place Prize winners are ineligible for Door Prizes.

  19. Q: What should I do if something happens that causes me to not be able to host my full game (i.e. bad Internet connection, computer problems, etc.)?
    A:
If you believe enough of the game has been played you can award points to the highest players. If you don't believe enough of the game has been played then you can raffle off the DP's and return the Place Prizes to your sponsor with an explanation of what happened.

  20. Q: Are alts allowed to play at my game?
    A:
In Seducity the rule is "they pay, they play" all sponsored games. We have no way to tell if it's one person running 2 avies or 2 members sharing an account. However, a host may politely ask that no one play with alts.

  21. Q: Am I allowed to use an alt at my own game?
    A:
No. A sponsored host is not allowed to play an alt at his/her own game.

  22. Q: Is my alt allowed to play another game while I'm hosting?
    A:
No. A sponsored host is not allowed to play another game while hosting. Good hosting requires attention...and a host's game will inevitably suffer when he/she is multitasking.

  23. Q: Is my alt allowed to host?
    A:
Only if your alt is also a sponsored host. You may only use a sponsored avi to host, either at your own game or when subbing for someone else. Additionally, the avi listed on the schedule for a particular game *MUST* be the avi you host that game with, even if you have more than one sponsored avi.

  24. Q: What if I want to change my sponsored host avi's name?
    A:
A name change should only be made after you have informed your sponsor that you would like to change the name of your host avi AND your sponsor has let you know that the necessary schedule changes have been made (usually this will be the week following the request). Temporary name changes are fine so long as the name is changed back before you host.

  25. Q: Can I ban alts from my game(s)?
    A:
Sponsored hosts cannot ban other members from any sponsored games just because they suspect or even know it's an alt. They CAN politely request members limit themselves to 1 or 2 avatars to make it more fair to others...but they can't kick out players if they are suspected or known alts.

  26. Q: Are there any special guidelines for hosting in turfs?
    A:
Sponsored hosts must follow the rules whether in turf or public. If there's a game in a turf and the host does not show then a sub host may fill in. If there's no access to the turf the sub-host must stand in the elevators lobby for at least 5 min. and announce to players where the game will be taking place.

  27. Q: When does the week start and end?
    A:
The week starts on Monday and ends on Sunday.

  28. Q: When is the deadline for turning in a winnerform?
    A:
Hosts are encouraged to send forms immediately after their game(s). It only takes a couple of minutes to complete the form. If needing to send at a later date a host may send before the next week is over. Any forms not received could result in a negative impact on your attendance percentage and rewards.

  29. Q: Can I host in Lakeside View or Vanilla Village?
    A:
No, there are to be neither sponsored nor un-sponsored games hosted in Lakeside View or Vanilla Village locales.

  30. Q: If I have a Host's Choice game, can I host a game even if another host is hosting it in the same hour?
    A:
No, the host who has a declared game on the schedule for that hour takes precedence. Please check the schedule every time you do a Host's Choice game and select a game that is NOT on the schedule for that hour.

  31. Q: When can an Impromptu game be hosted?
    A:
An impromptu game can be hosted anytime there is no more than *ONE* game on the schedule, except during Events. During Events an impromptu game can be hosted only when there are *NO* games scheduled on the Event schedule.

  32. Q: Can I host an Impromptu game during an Event?
    A:
Yes, but *ONLY* if there are *NO* games on the Event schedule for that hour.

  33. Q: If I'm holding my sponsored game in a private turf, can I lock my turf once the game starts?
    A:
No, you should never lock a turf while a sponsored game is actively being hosted. Latecomers should have the opportunity to participate as much as is possible from the time they arrive.
