Getting Started

So you want to become a sponsored host?
____________________________

Here are a few things you'll need to know and do:

  1. Choose a game you'd like to host.
Keep in mind some games will require the use of a special hoster program, but all games require the use of a door prize drawer (some hosters have this built into them). If you do not know where to get a program, visit the host list and ask fellow hosts. Once you have found a hoster, it's time to Practice, Practice, Practice!!

  2. Read through the Hosting Guidelines.
Know and familiarize yourself with the rules of hosting in Seducity. These links will give you most of the information you will need to know.
  3. Fill out the Sponsor Request Form.
This form must be received before you can become an official host. Your request will be submitted to our team of sponsors within 72 hours (3 days) of receipt. If your preferred sponsor is available, s/he will contact you via email or inworld. Although we always try to give a host his/her first choice of sponsor, some sponsors may not be able to take on any more hosts. If you are not contacted by someone within 2 weeks of submitting your request, please re-submit it.

Any staff member who is not listed on the form is not taking any hosts at this time, so you'll need to choose a staff member who is listed.

  4. Pick a Time to host your game.
While you are awaiting word from your sponsor, take a look at the schedule and start to think about when and where you'd like to host your game. When looking at the schedule, remember that there should be no more than 1 game scheduled per hour. It's a good idea to have a few options in mind, as schedule requests are done on a first come-first serve basis.

  5. Meet with your Sponsor.
Once a sponsor accepts you as a host, you will meet with them to go over the Hosting Guidelines and ask any questions you may have about hosting in general. It's also recommended that you inquire about the kind of support your sponsor will give and the type of support you'd like to receive.

During this meeting your sponsor will also add you to their host locker turf. It is very important to note that you *SHOULD NOT* add any other avatars to this turf lease (not even your alt). This is where you will pick up your prizes for your game(s). You should not remove any prizes from your locker until they are needed. Any unused prizes should be placed back into your locker for later pickup and return by your sponsor.

  6. What Happens Next?
After you have met with your sponsor, they will then submit a request to get your Host Locker set up. They will also submit forms to get your game added to the game schedule, and request that you be added to the Host Forum. Once your game has been added to the schedule, you can begin hosting!

  7. Most Importantly...HAVE FUN!
